Merchant Marine Academy Camporee April 2008
The Crew attended the Merchant Marine Academy Camporee for the second year in a row. This event is sponsored by the Kings Point Eagle Scout Association and offered many fun activities for our group. We went on a boat tour in Long Island Sound, went swimming in their indoor pool, and played a mean game of soccer with other scouts we met. We even learned a little about Sea Scouting! Thank you to Mrs. Turek for coming along!
 Jambo
was another successful weekend for Crew 63. Many thanks to all those
who worked the carnival rides and provided fellow scouts with a
terrific day of activities. Andrew, Owen, Pat, Will, Matt D,
Paul, Ashley, Hannah, Becky and Mike - great job! They braved the rain
Friday night and again on Saturday night to make a fun weekend for
everyone. Congratulations to Paul for winning the Silver Bugle contest
and winning....a silver bugle! He then sharpened his skills by waking
up the girls Sunday morning with a little serenade:) The weekend
activities were topped off by an awesome fireworks display that they
won't soon forget as well as some late-night dancing and movies. Can't
wait for the next Jambo! |
Fundraising News
Mike U has arranged for us to participate in a fundraising activity through the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs Baseball team. On
August 16th, we will provide six scouts and two adults to pass out trash bags at the stadium and we will collect $75 for our Crew. We also receive 8 tickets to attend a future game.
The crew will be helping out with parking at the Old Town Festival on Saturday
August 26th in Phillipsburg. If you are available that date, please come help raise money for the crew!
July 31st and August 1st
The Venture Crew will be helping serve food at the Warren County Grange at the popular Farmer's Fair. This is a great opportunity to raise money and if you are able to help out it would be greatly appreciated.
NEW CAR WASH DATE!!!
Venture Crew will be holding a car wash on Sunday, July 20 from 11am-3pm at the Phillipsburg Wal-Mart. All proceeds will go to the Venture Crew general fund.

The
crew has been invited to attend the Musconetcong Watershed
Association's groundbreaking ceremony at the River Resource Center -
plan to attend!! Venture Crew's annual pool party will be held at Ashley's house on Saturday, July 19th. Be there for loads of fun!
Deep Sea Fishing
This fun summer trip has been planned for August 9th. More details coming soon!
Final Summer Trip
From August 21-24 the crew is planning on a final activity for the summer in New York. The trip involves camping, spending time at the beach, and a waterpark! More Details coming soon.
